Montgomery Blair Sibley, a disbarred attorney who has pledged his “life, fortune and sacred honor” to prove President Barack Obama isn’t a natural born citizen, recently got some bad news. The D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed the dismissal of his quo warranto lawsuit, claiming he does not have standing to challenge Obama’s legitimacy as president.
With the defeat, Sibley only has one option left: Ask Mitt Romney to challenge Obama for him.
In a letter to the former Republican presidential candidate, Sibley informs Romney he is “the last and only man in these presently-United States who can stop the return to the yoke of tyranny which our Framers and their progeny fought so hard to throw off.” Romney, who was last seen wearing a Hawaiian shirt and kukui nut necklace, was named by the Appeals Court as the only person who has the right to challenge Obama’s legitimacy, Sibley said in a press release.
Sibley, who represented “D.C. Madam” Deborah Jeane Palfrey in 2007, asks for thirty minutes of Romney’s time to show him “privately held evidence” that will prove Obama’s birth certificate is a forgery.
In March of last year, Sibley filed a petition, which he believed would force the Supreme Court to weigh in on Obama’s eligibility to hold office. (It didn’t.) In February, he attempted to recruit “defendants and convicts of a 2009 federal anti-fraud law to file court motions to protest their charges because law was signed by someone Sibley believes to not be worthy of serving as president.”
But alas, the descendant of George Mason only has Romney left to turn to. Even though the former governor of Massachusetts once made a birther joke, it seems unlikely he’ll take up Sibley’s cause.
