Two people are dead and four more are injured after a string of violent incidents across D.C. last night.
The first incident happened about 8:50 p.m. on the 200 block of 62nd Street NE, not far from the Watts Branch playground near the District’s border with Seat Pleasant, Md. Metropolitan Police Department officers responded and found an adult male unconscious and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead, says MPD spokeswoman Saray Leon. Police have no description on any potential suspects.
On the 4600 block of Hillside Road SE, officers responded to a report of an adult male suffering from a stab wound and was found unresponsive and unconscious, Leon says. Officers arrived at 9:21 p.m. to respond to an aggravated assault call. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital and pronounced dead. Police have no lookout on a possible suspect, Leon says.
And four people were wounded on the 1200 block of 42nd Street NE about 10:56 p.m. when shots erupted from a dark-colored Acura. One complainant was shot in the left foot, the second in the stomach and hand, the third in the buttocks, and the fourth in the arm, Leon says. None of the victims suffered life-threatening injuries, Leon says. Aside from the make of the car, there is no lookout in the shooting, Leon says. The Washington Post reports the incident took place at a high school graduation party in the Kenilworth-Parkside neighborhood.
