A second woman was arrested last week and charged in the June attack on a gay drag performer at a pizza place on 14th Street NW.
As the Washington Blade first reported, Rachel Manna Sahle, 22, was charged with simple assault on July 3 in connection to the June 23 attack on Miles Denaro at a Manny and Olga’s at 1841 14th Street. Raymone Harding, 28, was also charged with simple assault last week.
Both women are seen in a video, posted to the awful website WorldStarHipHop, allegedly attacking Denaro, who is openly gay and was dressed in drag at the time. In a D.C. police arrest affidavit obtained by the Blade, Harding said the altercation was a fight “among several intoxicated customers.”
Police charged the women after seeing the video, according to the affidavit.
Sahle and Harding were arraigned in D.C. Superior Court last Wednesday, where they both pleaded not guilty to simple assault, according to court records. Both women were released on bond and will next appear in court on Sept. 5.
