PERFORMANCE: Capital Fringe Festival is back for its 8th year, bringing “independent theatre, live music and un-classifiable performances” to D.C. tonight through July 28. Check out the full schedule and pick up a Fringe Button (required to attend all performances).

ART PARTY: The Phillips Collection joins forces with Brightest Young Things tonight for Unstill Life: A Party Worth Losing Your Head Over, a “cubism-inspired Bastille Day fête.” Start off at The Phillips Collection
(1600 21st Street NW) for a gallery talk on French painter Georges Braque’s still lifes at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. At 7:30 p.m., take a tour (completely in French!) of the Braque exhibition. Then, head to Malmaison (3401 K Street NW) for the after party, complete with music from electric cellist Wytold, DJ Tommy Cornelis, and singer Margot MacDonald. $22 (just Phillips Collection), $10 (just after party), $30 (Phillps Collection and after party combo).

OUTDOOR TRIVIA: Test your trivia knowledge poolside tonight at 6th in the City’s Trivia Under the Stars event at the Capitol Skyline Hotel (10 I Street SW). 7 p.m. $20 (includes admission and two drinks). Mark your calendars, this event is taking place next Thursday, July 18.

MUSIC: She & Him, featuring the ever twee Zooey Deschanel, performs at Wolf Trap (1645 Trap Road, Vienna) this evening with Camera Obscura. 8 p.m. $30 lawn, $40 in-house.
