The Dismemberment Plan (Shervin Lainez/Partisan Records)

Start practicing your lunges and vertical leaps now, because come Oct. 19 and Oct. 20, you’ll be racing for the stage at the 9:30 Club, when the Dismemberment Plan plays a pair of shows in support of their new album, Uncanney Valley. The album, the formerly of D.C. post-punk band’s first collection of new material in 12 years, is due out Oct. 15 on Partisan Records.

Tickets are on sale today for $25 for the two shows, which will mark the band’s first performances in its home city since three January 2011 shows that kicked off an extended reunion tour. This tour, for anyone wishing to tail the band around the country, begins Sept. 14 at the Laneway Festival in Detroit, followed by appearances at the Riot Festival in Chicago and Detroit. The tour runs through mid-December (for now), wrapping up with a show in Los Angeles.

The Dismemberment Plan recently released the first track off Uncanney Valley, the jittery, poppy “Waiting.”
