D.C.’s The North Country is a folk-punk group with pop hooks and a polished sound like The Mekons or Wilco. Led by guitarist Andrew Grossman, the quartet released their debut album You Can Never Go Home Again last October. The album blurred the line between traditional Americana and rock and roll expertly, while having a social conscience. “Sharing Our Along” is a non-album single the band dropped back in June.
The North Country Play tonight with Ugly Purple Sweater and Royal Forest at the Paperhaus. Tickets are free, but cash donations are accepted.
