OUTDOOR MOVIE: Screen on the Green concludes its summer outdoor film series with a screening of Tootsie, featuring Dustin Hoffman in drag, tonight on the National Mall between 7th and 12th Streets SW. Sunset. Free.

MUSIC: Cheers! It’s D.C. Beer Week 2013. The main event this evening is the D.C. Heritage Night concert at Howard Theatre (620 T Street NW) where five local bands (Acme, Drop Electric, Redline Graffiti, Urban Cartel, and Watermelon) will pay “homage to the District’s heritage.” 7:00-11:00 p.m. Tickets: $10. But there’s also lots of beer to drink around the city.

FUNDRAISER: Help support City Dogs Rescue by taking part in the Summer Dine-Out Night tonight. Just eat out at Logan Tavern (1423 P Street NW), Commissary (1443 P Street NW), The Pig (1320 14th Street NW), Grillfish (1200 New Hampshire Avenue NW), or The Heights (3115 14th Street NW) and 15 percent of sales (including drinks) will be given to City Dogs Rescue to help them rescue adoptable dogs. 5 p.m. to close.

TUESDAY: Star and Shamrock (1341 H Street NE) is hosting its 1st Annual Matzo Ball Eating Contest this Tuesday. Wash those dumplings down with Shmaltz Brewing beers, which have taken over the taps at Star and Shamrock for D.C. Beer Week. 8:00-10:00 p.m.

WEDNESDAY: D.C. Bike Party is leading a Toga party bike ride this Wednesday. “Participants are encouraged to wrap themselves up in a toga and sport gold leafed crowns when dressing for the event—think ‘THIS IS SPARTA’ mixed with John Belushi’s infamous toga party.” The ride begins at Dupont Circle and concludes at Bardo Brewpub (1200 Bladensburg Road NE.). 7:30 p.m. Free.

THURSDAY: Celebrate Julia Child’s 101st Birthday this Thursday with a screening of Julie & Julia at the National Museum of American History. This event concludes their Food in the Garden summer series. 6-9 p.m. Tickets: $20.

FRIDAY: DCist’s own Valerie Paschall hosts The Identity Crisis Comedy Showcase at Black Cat (1811 14th Street NW) this Friday. The lineup of comedians includes: Sara Armour (Laughing Skull Festival, Women in Comedy Festival), Jamel Johnson (The Reason You’re On Twitter), Matty Litwack (Arlington Drafthouse, Dragoncon), Tim D. Miller (Three Guys On podcast, Heard on Sirius/XM), Tyler Richardson (DC Improv, Finalist: Boston Comedy Festival New York Showcase), Randy Syphax (Seen on Comcast NBA Sportsnet, Featured in Huffington Post), Jenn Tisdale (Kennedy Center, Cape Fear Comedy Festival), and David Tveite (Bridgetown Comedy Festival) 9 p.m. $10.

SATURDAY: Asia After Dark at the Freer Gallery of Art (1150 Independence Avenue SW) this Saturday celebrates Chinese martial arts. The event will include kung fu and tai chi demos, DIY teacup sleeve crafting, gallery conversations, specialty cocktails, small bites, and more. 7-11 p.m. $25 in advance, $30 at the door (ticket includes one drink).

SUNDAY: The Kennedy Center Millennium Stage (2700 F Street NW) will showcase D.C. street performers this Sunday. 6 p.m. Free.
