California’s Joyce Manor has spent the past few years perfecting their brash pop punk in basements, living rooms and proper venues across the country opening for the newly reunited Desaparecidos and DCist favorite Titus Andronicus among others. The quartet brings their chaotic live show to the Black Cat backstage with Philadelphia’s Holy Death and Glocca Morra. $12, 8 p.m.

Last year, Tom Gabel, singer of the Against Me!, publicly came out as transgender after struggling with gender dysphoria for years. As part of her transition, she has changed her name to Laura Jane Grace and is now embarking on a short tour to promote her latest EP Transgender Dysphoria Blues. Former Life Of Agony singer Mina Caputo will open the show at the Rock And Roll Hotel. $12-15, 7 p.m.

Daughn Gibson‘s voice booms and croaks over his music. A near parody of classic voices like Cash and Orbison, Gibson’s aw shucks charm of his debut All Hell landed him on plenty of 2012 year-end lists. Less than a year later, he’s back with another album and a full band behind him as he takes the stage at the Black Cat. Hiss Golden Messenger will open the show. $15, 8 p.m.

Local synth-pop purveyors Miyazaki will be headlining just one of many shows this week at the Rock And Roll Hotel this week to celebrate the venue’s seventh birthday. Their recently released debut Color Of Glass is 11-tracks of shimmering melodies over percolating drum machines. Medals, Black Hills and Denman will open the show. $10, 8 p.m.

7 Seconds frontman Kevin Seconds will close out the Rock And Roll Hotel‘s seventh anniversary. The legendary Reno, Nev. singer-songwriter has spent the past six years working primarily on solo projects that range from touring to podcasts. Fellow punks-turned-singer-songwriters John Stabb (Government Issue) and Kepi Ghoulie (Groovie Ghoulies) will join Seconds on the bill. $10, 7 p.m.
