Those who were living around the District back in 2002 probably still tremble in fear when anyone mentions the names John Allen Muhammad and Lee Boyd Malvo—the Beltway snipers who terrorized the area for three weeks.
Blue Caprice, the new film from director Alexandre Moors, revisits that turbulent time for D.C., and the first trailer just dropped, giving us a peek at the controversial approach he’s going for.
The chilling, atmospheric trailer suggests that the film ditches a factual, procedural approach (like the abysmal made-for-TV movies D.C. Sniper: 23 Days of Fear and D.C. Sniper) and aims for a more psychologically inquisitive style, focusing on the bizarre, twisted relationship between Muhammad (played by Isaiah Washington) and Malvo (played by newcomer Tequan Richmond).
It certainly looks interesting. Check out the trailer below.
Blue Caprice hits theaters September 13.
