The Washington Business Journal reports:
The Amsterdam Falafel at 1830 14th St. NW will be the first franchise of the original Adams Morgan spot for late-night eats, according to Josh Miller of Pulse Property Group, who represented the tenants in the deal.
The 14th Street location will be 2,100 square feet — so there will be more space for seating inside than in the original Adams Morgan location. They’re also hoping to add a few outdoor stools with a window that opens onto the street, according to Miller.
The new location will also serve beer of the Dutch variety.
Amsterdam Falafelshop, the best place to shove inexpensive food in your mouth after you’ve had too many drinks singing karaoke at Muzette, began franchising in 2010. There are currently franchise locations, or sister shops, in Somerville, Mass. and Annapolis, Md.
Request for comment from Amsterdam Falafel representatives has yet to be returned.
Update: A public relations representative for Amsterdam Falafelshop tells DCist the target opening date for the 14th Street location is February 2014.
