BusTrackDC, the app that filled the hole in your iPhone left by NextBus DC, is now available for Android.

“The Android version will include all of the features the current iOS-only version has, including finding bus, Metro, and Circulator stops near you, real-time arrivals at each stop, saving favorite stops for easy access, route maps for every line, and a searchable list of routes,” developer Jason Rosenbaum said in an email. The app is still free.

Rosenbaum launched BusTrackDC in February after NextBus DC was killed in a fight between two tech companies.

While NextBus DC got its information from NextBus Inc., a California company that collects information from transit systems around the world, including the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Agency—the app itself was developed by a third company—Rosenbaum is getting his maps, routes, and schedules directly from WMATA’s public data feed. His app uses bus stops’ latitude and longitude to map positions on an embedded Apple map.

The Android version, naturally, uses Google maps instead. But based on this Android user’s limited experience with the app, it works just as well as the iPhone version.
