There can never be enough guitars on stage in a rock band. At least that what Nashville punks Diarrhea Planet seem to believe. The chooglin’ twenty-somethings will bring their four guitar attack along with their excellent new record I’m Rich Beyond Your Wildest Dreams to DC9. Brooklyn bluecollar D.I.Y.-ers The So So Glos will open the show along with The Black Sparks. $10, 8 p.m.

It’s been a year, and it’s still impossible to escape Carly Rae Jepsen. The Canadian pop singer turned viral sensation will be at Wolf Trap to promote one of my favorite records of last year, Kiss. Hot Chelle Rae will open. $30-42, 7 p.m.

Following the break up beloved emo band Cap ‘n Jazz, Tim Kinsella formed Joan of Arc. The Chicago based band just released a collection of songs for an experimental art exhibition called Testimonium. Experimental pop collageist Co La will open the show with After The Lights. $10, 8 p.m.

D.C. ska punks and Less Than Jake disciples Kill Lincoln will headline an all ages punk rock showcase at the Rock And Roll Hotel. The band recently released their latest album That’s Cool...In a Totally Negative and Destructive Way. Boardroom Heroes, Braceface and Collapser will open the show. $10, 8 p.m.

Three Stars alums Priests will bring their Back To School Tour of the East Coast to Comet Ping Pong. The D.C. punks who just released Tape Two this past June will bring along Rhode Island’s Downtown Boys and California’s Neonates to round out the bill. $10, 10 p.m.
