Adam Kokesh, the libertarian gun rights activist who posted a clip of himself apparently loading a shotgun on Freedom Plaza to YouTube, has been denied the right to leave jail once again.
The Washington Post reports:
Judge Patricia A. Broderick wrote in an order that Adam Kokesh, 31, would remain in the D.C. jail, citing a violation of bond on a prior arrest weeks before authorities arrested him on a charge of carrying a firearm in the District outside of his home or office.
…
In her ruling, Broderick also cited that Kokesh had no verifiable employment and authorities found several weapons and illegal drugs inside his Herndon home.
A message posted to Kokesh’s Facebook page simply said, “Adam has been denied bond.”
Kokesh, who is said to be in “high spirits,” will appear in court in early October for a status hearing. His jury trial begins on October 24. According to court record, Kokesh’s attorney has filed a motion to reconsider the order denying bond.
