Photo by Mr. T in DCMetro’s computers are having a bad Thursday. And so, presumably, are Metro’s customers.
According to the agency, “We are experiencing intermittent computer issues on Metro’s internal network. Not affecting rail safety systems. Trains are moving.” Metro tweeted that “The public website, platform displays, and Metro’s customer information call center are currently affected.” However, Metro’s website, wmata.com, is working once again (update: now it’s down again), as is the NextBus tool.
The problem is also affecting Metro’s communication systems, so Metro Transit Police are asking customers in trouble to call 911 if they need assistance. Hopefully, they get reception.
Update: Metro Transit Police phone lines are back up.
Metro Transit Police phone lines are now available. For police assistance, the public can call 202-962-2121 or 911. #wmata (11:12 a.m.)
