Don’t bring these on planes! Photo courtesy TSA.An Alexandria, Va. man on his way to Paris was stopped at Dulles International Airport yesterday after Transportation Security Administration officers spotted a loaded gun in his carry on. The TSA would like to remind you, once again, that you can’t bring weapons on planes.
According to a release from the agency, a 9mm Beretta firearm, loaded with nine rounds of ammunition, was recovered from the man’s bag. The man was cited by local police on a weapons charge.
Now comes the exasperated part of the news release:
As a reminder, weapons—including firearms, firearm parts and ammunition—are not permitted in carry-on bags, but can be transported in checked bags if they are unloaded, properly packed and declared to the airline. Passengers who bring firearms to the checkpoint are subject to possible criminal charges from law enforcement and civil penalties from TSA.
