MOVIES: The Spooky Movie International Horror Film Festival continues tonight and this week at AFI Silver Theatre (8633 Colesville Road, Silver Spring, MD). This evening come out for Dead Meat Walking: A Zombie Walk Documentary (7:00 pm) and Sleeping Dogs Lie (9:00 pm). Plus, check out highlights from later this week. $12 each film, or combo ticket pass rates.

BOOK TALK: Author Allen Salkin goes behind-the-scenes with TV food personalities Paula Deen, Emeril Lagasse, Anthony Bourdain, and others in his book From Scratch: Inside the Food Network, which he’ll be discussing tonight at the Jewish Literary Festival at the Washington DCJCC
(1529 16th Street NW). The event will include a food tasting of a Barefoot Contessa recipe. 7:30-9 p.m. Tickets: $9 Federal employees, $15 students and seniors, $18 general admission.

TALK SHOW: Brandon Wetherbee hosts You, Me, Them, Everybody, welcoming guests Jennifer Tress (author of You’re Not Pretty Enough, Adam Friedland (comedian), and the bands Lenorable and Jonny Grave to the Kennedy Center Millennium Stage (2700 F Street NW) tonight. Free tickets given out starting at 5:30 p.m. Show starts 6 p.m.

FOOD & DRINK: The Village at Shirlington is hosting its own Restaurant Week this week, offering two-course lunches for $12 and three-course dinners for $25 at Cheesetique, Busboys and Poets, Cafe Pizzaiolo, and other participating restaurants.

TUESDAY: Allagash Brewing and Ripple (3417 Connecticut Avenue NW) team up tonight for an prix fixe Oktoberfest Allagash Beer Dinner. Five beers will be paired with five dishes, including chicharrones and beer nuts paired with Allagash White; scallop schnitzel, fennel, grapefruit, trout roe paired with Hugh Malone; pumpernickel pasta, lamb pastrami, apples, mustard paired with Golden Brett; house made sausage, braised pork shank, sauerkraut, potato latke paired with 2012 Interlude; and sweet potato cheesecake, bourbon marshmallow fluff, walnut cinnamon brittle paired with 2013 Fluxus. 7 p.m. $65.

WEDNESDAY: Join the Washington Ballet for Beer, Ballet, and Bubbly, an opportunity to watch the rehearsal of an upcoming production in the England Studio Theater (3515 Wisconsin Avenue NW), then have a drink with dancers and fellow ballet supporters. 6:30 p.m. Tickets: $30.

THURSDAY: The Dance Theatre of Harlem performs at Sidney Harman Hall (610 F Street NW) this Thursday. 8 p.m. $30-$65.

FRIDAY: The Union Market Drive-In (1309 5th Street NE) continues this Friday with a screening of Good Will Hunting in honor of National No Beard Day. Gates open at 6 p.m., movie starts at 8:00 p.m. Free.

SATURDAY: This Saturday, those who have brought you Birch & Barley, Churchkey, Rustico, and Bluejacket present the Snallygaster craft beer festival.
