Today in cutesy federal government shutdown promotions, JetBlue is offering anyone named Bill a free expedited security pass if they’re flying out of D.C. Get it? Because Congress can’t pass a bill to reopen the government, which means D.C.’s public school teachers and other employees may be without a paycheck soon. A laugh riot!

As the discount flight company explained on their blog, anyone whose moniker is a variation on Bill (Billy, William, Willa, Guillermos, Willem) and is flying out of National, Dulles of Baltimore-Washington International airports can get an Even More Speed pass for themselves and anyone traveling on their reservation.

“Whatever our personal politics are, we’d all like to see good legislation moving through Washington,” Marty St. George, senior vice president marketing and commercial strategy for the company, said. “JetBlue is doing our part to keep ‘Bills’ moving by offering them an Even More Speed pass through security.”

The offer runs through October 31. It’s starting to look like the shutdown will run to that date too.
