DISCO MOVIES: If you missed out on screenings of documentary The Legend of Cool “Disco” Dan about the iconic local graffiti artist, the filmmakers have teamed up with DIY digital distribution company Yerka. The Legend of Cool “Disco” Dan is more than the story of a mysterious tagger. Joseph Pattisall and Roger Gastman dig into the history of Washington’s go-go scene and its unfortunate relationship to a rash of gang violence in the 1980s. The movie made its VOD premiere yesterday. To celebrate the digital and DVD release, the AFI Silver (8633 Colesville Road) will screen the film this weekend with a rare personal appearance by Cool “Disco” Dan, who will appear at the 5:15 p.m. AFI screenings. OUTDOOR MOVIE: Rosslyn BID will host a Halloween-themed double feature in Gateway Park (1300 Lee Highway). Hocus Pocus will play at 7 p.m. and The Shining will show a 9 p.m. Free.

BEER: This Saturday, the people who have brought you Birch & Barley, Churchkey, Rustico, and Bluejacket present the Snallygaster craft beer festival. FOOD & DRINK: Are you inept at food preparation? Do you fear killing your loved ones with undercooked turkey? Head to Frederick’s Lingfield Farm (6112 Ford Road) for a six-hour Thanksgiving “boot camp” led by people from Art and Soul. “Chef Wes Morton demonstrates how to properly prepare turkeys, stuffing, cocktails, and more, which guests then dine on during an early outdoor supper.” 2-8 p.m. Tickets are $100 per person.

FAIR: Grab your children (lightly) and take them to the Kids’ Corner Fall Fair & Fundraiser at Mitchell Park (23rd and S Street NW). There will be pumpkin decorating, a moon bounce, crafts, wagon-led hayrides, face painting, music and dancing. 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Free to enter. Tickets will be available for activities and food.

CLEAN: Join Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-D.C.) and Councilmember Yvette Alexander (D-Ward 7) for “Clean-up our History Day at Woodlawn Cemetery” (4661 Benning Road SE). “The guided community cleanup of the historic cemetery will include instructions on equipment by National Guard volunteers. Cleanup volunteers will be working in an area that has been cleared of heavy brush by the National Guard and Woodlawn volunteers. Cleanup volunteers will be asked to help rake, pick and bag debris, weeds, shrubbery and leaves around grave sites of notable African Americans and on cemetery grounds. If possible, volunteers are asked to bring gloves, but the work to be performed is not unlike basic garden work.” 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Free.

WINE: Union Market (1309 5th Street NE) will host Master of Wine Jancis Robinson to celebrate the release of her The Seventh Edition of The World Atlas of Wine.
“Accompanied by fellow wine writer Dave McIntyre of the Washington Post, Jancis will discuss the newest additions to her book, including newly detailed maps of Northern and Central Virginia wine country.” Naturally, there will also be a wine tasting hosted by Union Market residents Cordial. 4-6 p.m. Tickets $35 each.
