MOVIE: The National Theatre’s (1321 Pennsylvania Avenue NW) Classic Movie series continues this evening with the 1962 psychological thriller What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? 6:30 p.m. Free (tickets given out 30 minutes before the screening).

MUSIC: Acrassicauda, “often credited as being the first heavy metal group to emerge from Iraq,” plays the Black Cat (1811 14th Street NW) tonight with Never Submit. 8 p.m. $10.

PUPPETS: The FRU-FRU Puppet Theatre combines “acting, puppeteering and live music” on the the Kennedy Center Millennium Stage (2700 F Street NW) tonight as part of the Kids Euro Festival 2013. 6:00 p.m. Free (tickets, two per person max, given out at 5:30 p.m. in the States Gallery).

TUESDAY: The 27th annual 17th Street High Heel Race (1519 17th Street NW) speeds through the streets this Tuesday. Come for the costumes, the competition, and the sense of community. Parade starts at 7 p.m. and the race is at 9 p.m. Free.

WEDNESDAY: Discover twenty unusual fall brews at Jack Rose’s (2007 18th Street NW) OktoRAREBEERfest this Wednesday. The selection includes Ommegang Game of Thrones Take the Black, DC Brau Grape Brandy Barrel-Aged Citizen, Cognac Barrel-Aged Hof Ten Dormal 2013, Flying Dog The Fear 2012, and sixteen others. From 5-6 p.m. the beers will be half-price.

THURSDAY: The first rule of surviving zombies, according to the movie Zombieland, is simple: cardio. Prepare yourself for the undead apocalypse this Halloween by riding through the city with BicycleSpace for Night of the Bicycling Dead (1019 7th Street NW). 8:00 p.m. Free.

FRIDAY: The Epic Win Nerdlesque burlesque crew features performers who speak Klingon and Elvish, travel with their comic books, and love their video games. See them perform this Friday in two shows at the Black Cat (1811 14th Street NW). 8:45 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. $12 in advance, $15 day of.

SATURDAY: AFI Silver’s (8633 Colesville Road Silver Spring, MD) Halloween on Screen film roundup continues this weekend with Hot Fuzz, Ghostbusters, Nosferatu and more. $15 each film.
