Seven score and ten years ago, Abraham Lincoln delivered the Gettysburg Address on a battlefield in Pennsylvania during the Civil War.
While we here in D.C. are about 90 miles (and 150 years) away from that scene, the National Park Service will hold a commemoration of the event at the Lincoln Memorial plaza today. At noon, Abraham Lincoln himself (!) will be there to recite the Address. There will also be activities for kids from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
