Even Shadow Senator Paul Strauss had a car in the parade. And a classic one, to boot.

Our Washington football team may not be doing so hot right now, and RGIII isn’t doing nearly as well as he was last year, but this is just uncalled for: The Washington Post posted this photo earlier today that a reader sent in.

The photo, which shows a Virginia car’s license plate “F RG3,” could be taken to mean anything, really. But the placement of the Dallas Cowboys sticker right next to it makes its meaning pretty explicit: Fuck Robert Griffin III.

How rude!

Since a reader notified the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles on Twitter, the license plate is under review, as it may be offensive to some. But can the state’s DMV actually make this owner changer their license plate? Well, maybe. DMV spokesperson Sunni Brown tells DCist in an email that the process for the license plate review process works like this:

When a customers calls a questionable message to DMV’s attention, that personalized message goes before a diverse committee of DMV employees who meet monthly. The committee determines if the message should be recalled.

If recalled, a letter is sent to the customer advising him or her of the agency’s decision to recall the message based on the criteria detailed here.

Update: Turns out this issue was already reviewed by the Virginia DMV back in July. Brown writes in an email to DCist: “After being made aware of the message and doing some research, it turns out that DMV already recalled this message back in July. It’s on our no-issue list.”

There you have it.
