HOLIDAYS: Celebrate Italy’s Holiday Traditions with food historian Francine Segan at the Embassy of Italy (3000 Whitehaven Street NW) tonight. Enjoy holiday treats, learn Italian stories and traditions, and watch artists creating wooden creches. 7-9 p.m. $55.

FOOD & FUNDRAISING: Eat pizza for a good cause tonight at all three of Pizzeria Paradiso’s locations. Through December 22, order a pizza on a DC Brau spent-grain pizza crust and 100 percent of the proceeds will be donated to Bread For The City.

STORYTELLING: What’s truth? What’s fiction? Spot the liar at the Perfect Liars Club storytelling event at the Science Club (1136 19th Street NW) club tonight. Three tales are true, one is a lie. Can you spot it? 7 p.m. $5 (tickets sold out online, but limited number available at the door).

OPERA: Hear members of the Domingo-Cafritz Young Artist Program perform excerpts of The Lion, the Unicorn, and Me, a “holiday family opera,” on the Kennedy Center Millennium Stage (2700 F Street NW) tonight. 6 p.m. Free.

WEDNESDAY: Chicago’s Second City sketch comedy crew comes to the National Museum of Natural History’s Baird Auditorium (10th & Constitution Avenue NW) this Wednesday to perform their Nut-Cracking Holiday Revue. Two performances: 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. $25.

THURSDAY: Cheers to Repeal Day! Raise a glass to the December 5, 1933 repeal of Prohibition at Jack Rose Dining Saloon’s (2007 18th Street NW) 3rd annual Repeal Day Celebration this Thursday. In true speakeasy fashion, there will be 1930s cocktails and snacks, burlesque performances, whiskey flights, and bottomless bubbles. 7 p.m.-1 a.m.

FRIDAY: Craft up some gifts for the holidays at the Mingle at the Museum: A DIY Holiday event at the S. Dillon Ripley Center (1100 Jefferson Drive SW) this Friday. Instructors will help you make cards (using stamps, calligraphy, and collage), origami ornaments, and decorate cookies. Smithsonian Program Manager Daniel Gifford will also discuss 100-year old holiday postcards. Members $25 in advance, $30 at the door. General admission $45 in advance, $50 at the door. 6:45-9:30 p.m. Ticket price includes crafts, hors d’oeuvres, and one drink.

SATURDAY: Love unique, handmade gifts but don’t have a crafty bone in your body? Shop Grump, a local holiday craft show, at Artisphere (1101 Wilson Boulevard Arlington VA) this Saturday. Vendors will be selling whisky barrel aged maple syrup, clever DC relevant cards (“All I want for Christmas is to pet a baby panda”), illustrations of pie, and more. 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
