Raise a glass to the December 5, 1933 repeal of Prohibition at Jack Rose Dining Saloon’s (2007 18th Street NW) 3rd annual Repeal Day Celebration tonight. In true speakeasy fashion, there will be 1930s cocktails and snacks, burlesque performances, whiskey flights, and bottomless bubbles. 7 p.m.-1 a.m.
PARADE & PARTY: The holidays are upon us and with them come the usual cast of characters: Rudolph, Frosty, that guy who judges whether you’re naughty or nice and then carries you away in a large sack and eats you for dinner. Wait, what? Forget Ol’ Saint Nick, tonight it’s time to celebrate Krampus, a darker devil-like Christmas character, at the second annual Krampusnacht on H Street. The evening kicks off with the Santa’s Cause Benefit Reception at Gallery O (1354 H Street NE) at 6 p.m., followed by the Krampuslauf Parade on H Street (between 13th to and 11th Streets NE) at 7 p.m., and finally concluding at at after party at Little Miss Whiskey’s (1104 H St. NE) at 9 p.m.
SHOPPING: Miss Pixies (1626 14th Street NW) is hosting a Holiday Thank You Event this evening, where you can shop while nibbling on snacks from Barcelona, Cork Market, Pearl Dive, Bakehouse, Soupergirl, and Room 11. There will also be prizes, local artists, and discounts. 6-8 p.m.
COMEDY: David Coulter and Max Rosenblum host After Class, “weekly educational comedy,” at The Science Club (1136 19th Street NW) tonight. Come out and be entertained by D.C. comics who’ve performed at DC Improv, Arlington Drafthouse, Laugh Factory, and elsewhere. 8:30-11 p.m. Free.
IMPROV: Washington Improv Theater presents Seasonal Disorder, a “holiday improv extravaganza” at Source (1835 14th Street NW) tonight through December 28. Shows at 8 p.m. ($12-$15) and 10 p.m. (pay-what-you-choose).
