TUESDAY: Washington City Paper’s Bacon and Bourbon Festival at Longview Gallery (1234 9th Street NW) this Tuesday will include bacon dishes from local restaurants, bourbon tastings, beer, live bluegrass, and a mechanical bull. 6:00-10:00 p.m. for VIPs, 7-10 p.m. for general admission. THURSDAY: Lowland Hum and the Cowards Choir, a North Carolina folk band that incorporates “visual art, print, and even smells” into their live performances, plays the Sixth and I Historic Synagogue (600 I Street NW) this Thursday. Doors 7 p.m., show 8 p.m. $8 in advance, $10 day of show.

FRIDAY: Story League gathers its best storytellers for the Story League All-Stars 2 storytelling night at the Black Cat (1811 14th Street NW) this Friday. 9 p.m. $12 in advance, $15 day of.

SATURDAY: The Capital City Showcase gets into the holiday spirit (all the holiday spirits) with their Christmahanukwanzakah show at the DC Arts Center (2438 18th Street NW) this Saturday. The event will feature comedians Andrew Bucket, Jamel Johnson, Matty Litwack, Reggie Melbrough, and Romate Walters, as well as musician Linsay Deming and rock band The Army of The Potomac. All proceeds will be donated to the DC Central Kitchen. 10 p.m. $15 online, $20 at the door.

SUNDAY: Ms. Lauryn Hill plays the 9:30 Club (815 V Street NW) this Sunday. 6 p.m. $75.
