If you work for the federal or District government, or work for an organization that bases their delay decision on them, congratulations! You have a two-hour delay this morning.

Also on a two-hour delay are D.C public schools, while schools in Loudoun, Fairfax, Fauquier, Prince William, Prince George’s, Montgomery, Arlington, Alexandria, Frederick and Howard counties are closed.

Fun news for both children and adults alike. Not so fun? The thousands of power outages the region is experiencing.

Just over 2,640 households in D.C. are without power, mainly those in zip codes 20010, 20011, 20012 and 20017. That includes part of Columbia Heights, Brookland, Brightwood Park and areas north of there. Despite Catholic University being located in the area experiencing power outages, it will open on time this morning. Northern Virginia is really suffering, with 80,538 outages reported.

These delays, closing and outages are the result of Sunday’s snow turned sleet turned rain storm. More rain is in store for today, while there’s a possibility of snow and sleet tomorrow.
