The Dumbarton House in Georgetown will host a debate tonight between several of the Democratic mayoral candidates who will compete in the April 1 primary.
If you’ve been keeping score at home, this marks the fourth mayoral debate for the 2014 primary thus far. Among the candidates confirmed to participate in tonight’s debate are Councilmembers Muriel Bowser, Jack Evans, Vincent Orange and Tommy Wells, as well as Andy Shallal and Reta Jo Lewis. Mayor Vince Gray, who will officially kick off his reelection campaign this weekend at THEARC in Southeast, will not attend tonight’s debate, his campaign manager Chuck Thies tells DCist. “His schedule is filled with mayoral duties, including attending to a public safety issue,” Thies writes in an email.
Although attending the debate is free, tickets for it are “sold out.” However, an RSVP is not required to attend, so you might be able to get in if you get there early enough. The debate starts at 6:30 p.m. and The Dumbarton House is located at 2715 Q Street NW.
