The Metropolitan Police Department has identified the man and woman found dead in a home near Howard University last night.

Oluremi Thomas, 36 of Northwest, and Keyonna Proctor, 24 of Southeast, were found suffering from gunshot wounds in the 700 block of Girard Street NW. Their bodies were transferred to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, according to police. WJLA reports that the victims were found in a basement by a cousin of Thomas.

Councilmember Jim Graham posted unconfirmed details about the case on the Ward 1 listserv. Thomas and Proctor’s deaths are being investigated as homicides.
