Seems like every few months the TSA has to have this conversation with people: No, you (still) can’t bring weapons—including guns—on airplanes.

CBS DC reports that a Maryland man was arrested yesterday morning for trying to bring a loaded gun onto a flight out of National Airport through his carry-on luggage. Transportation Security Administration officials say the suspect, an unidentified man from District Heights, Md., was found to have a loaded Glock 22 semi-automatic pistol in his carry-on luggage. TSA officials also says that there were 28 rounds of ammunition in the gun’s magazine and a .40 caliber bullet in the gun’s chamber. The man was promptly arrested by Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority police and is facing state weapons charges.

Just as a friendly reminder to all airport travelers, the TSA would like to remind you that you cannot bring weapons on to airplanes, for obvious reasons that don’t need to be stated, but apparently they do because people keep doing it.

The TSA’s weapons policy:

As a reminder, weapons-including firearms, firearm parts and ammunition-are not permitted in carry-on bags, but can be transported in checked bags if they are unloaded, properly packed and declared to the airline. Passengers who bring firearms to the checkpoint are subject to possible criminal charges from law enforcement and civil penalties from TSA.
