Uber — purveyor of rides in black sedans and foil to D.C. cabs — will attempt to sign up hundreds of local college students with the promise of free rides.
Beginning today, students at four D.C. universities will have the opportunity to sign up 1,500 of their peers in one week in exchange for seven days of free uberx rides for their entire campus. Here are the codes:
We emailed Uber’s D.C. representative to ask why the University of the District of Columbia, Catholic University, Gallaudet University and a host of other schools aren’t included in the promotion. Update: Uber’s Rachel Holt says this is a test run of the promotion: “We’re excited to see the results and roll it out more broadly within the District and other cities.”
