Dudes, a D.C.-based trio of Francy Grahm, Laurie Spector and Luke Reddick, has been making waves with their debut record Greatest Hits. Graham plays with Chain & The Gang, and Spector was formerly with Foul Swoops, giving the band some added street cred. The eight tracks that make up Greatest Hits are sloppy punk rock songs that are a blend of the The Make-Up and less political Priests. Take “Sad and Lonely,” sung by Graham. The two-minute stomper is both hilarious and sardonic with the classic line “Walking down the street/ punch me in the dick.” True to the record’s closing track, and band mantra, Dudes “don’t give a fuck.”
Dudes plays tomorrow night with Bleeding Rainbow and Hunters at Comet Ping Pong. Tickets are $10.
