As the snow day draws to a close, over 480 Pepco customers in D.C. are currently without power, mainly in Columbia Heights.
Pepco estimates that power will be restored to the 486 customers currently in the dark around 6 p.m. The cause is currently under evaluation, the utility said on Twitter.
By 3:30 p.m., service to about 200 customers had been restored. For the remaining 300, service is expected to be restored by 2 a.m. Friday, a Pepco spokesperson said. Crews are on the scene now investigating what happened.
Meanwhile, Metro saw a huge dip in ridership today. A spokesperson says ridership is at 13 percent of a usual Thursday. That’s around 48,000 trips down from 370,000. While rail service hasn’t been impacted by the snow, bus service was suspended this morning and has now resumed only on certain, major routes.
