It wouldn’t be a proper election season without a song from Ron Moten. And now the former Ward 7 Council candidate and Adrian Fenty fanboy has delivered.

In his new track with his D.C. M.U.S.I.C. group, “We’re Coming Out,” Moten and co. rap over a sample of Diana Ross’ “I’m Coming Out” about the upcoming election, urging people in D.C. and Prince George’s County to vote. While Moten doesn’t make any endorsements, he and his D.C. M.U.S.I.C. buds rap about some of the more pertinent issues of the election, mostly the high unemployment rate in Wards 7 and 8.

The song ends in true D.C. fashion with a go-go “roll call,” urging people to “save our music, save our culture, save our future.”
