Update: National’s runways are once again open.
Original post
The runways at Reagan National Airport are closed at the moment due to snow, while just three are open at Dulles International.
Many flights have been canceled, with the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority warning that “few flights are operating” out of Dulles.
During the overnight hours we have activated snow removal crews and equipment at our airports to plow and treat the airfield.
Passengers with flights today should re-confirm the status of their flight directly with their airline before leaving for the airport. Many, but not all, flights are expected to be canceled due to weather. If your flight is canceled, please contact your airline to rebook, instead of coming to the airport.
Both airports are still open to passengers who believe in the power of positive thought.
Runways are closed at this time. Snow crews making a herculean effort to combat #Titan and reopen main runway 1/19.
