ROAST: Let’s roast Bao Bao! Wait, not over an open flame, but with a good natured teasing. The Capital City Showcase, who recently roasted Dan Snyder (played by comic stand-in Adam Friedland) will roast Bao Bao the panda (played by comedian Jamel Johnson) tonight at The Brixton (901 U Street NW). Comedians Andrew Bucket, David Carter, Elahe Izadi, Pat Riley, Chelsea Shorte, Haywood Turnipseed Jr., and Jon Yeager will make up the roasting panel. 8-10 p.m. Free.

FOOD & DRINK: It’s Fat Tuesday! Stuff yourself silly at Acadiana’s (901 New York Avenue NW) Mardi Gras Celebration this evening with an all-you-can-eat-and-drink menu featuring oyster po’boys, mini muffalettas, deviled eggs, shrimp and grits, jambalaya, crawfish, beignets, and more. Wash it all down with bourbon tastings, specialty cocktails, and beer and wine. 6-10 p.m. $100.

TRIVIA: Test your knowledge of the “four Bs of Mardi Gras: Beer, Beads, Bourbon Street and Boobies,” at Mardi Gras Trivia tonight at Ventnor Sports Cafe (2411 18th Street NW). You could win New Orleans swag, bar tabs, and tickets to Dr. Dog at the 9:30 Club on March 15. 8 p.m. to get a table, 8:30 p.m. for the start of the game.

BLOCK PARTY: Bayou Bakery (1515 N Courthouse Road, Arlington Va.) is throwing a Bayou Gras Block Party tonight, complete with “parade food, Bourbon Street style drinks, and Abita Amber beer.” 5-10 p.m. $15-$30. At 8 p.m. the Clarendon-Courthouse Mardi Gras Parade will bring bands, floats, and marchers down the street.

SCIENCE: Richard Stone (international news editor at Science magazine) has traveled to North Korea five times. He shares his experiences at the DC Science Cafe event, The Sacred Volcano and Other True Stories from North Korea, at Busboys and Poets’ 5th and K location (1025 5th Street NW) tonight. 6:30-8:30 p.m. Free.
