Northern Virgina residents: No longer will you have to make the long trek to U Street to get your half-smoke fix. On Thursday, the Ali family—along with long-time half-smoke aficionado Bill Cosby—will open Ben’s Chili Bowl’s new location in Arlington, Va., a release states.
The second location of the famed D.C. eatery is opening in Rosslyn, at 1725 Wilson Boulevard, and will officially open its doors at 10:30 a.m., with a ceremonial ribbon cutting. We’re excited to welcome Ben’s Chili Bowl to Arlington,” Jay Fisette, Chair of the Arlington County Board said in a statement. “Residents and visitors to the nation’s Capitol have enjoyed this iconic landmark for more than a half-century, and we couldn’t be happier that Ben’s has chosen Arlington as its first expansion outside D.C.”
But Arlington isn’t the only place Ben’s is expanding to. Plans to open up a third location on H Street NE have been brewing for a while, but were delayed after several permit and building issues. The Ali family hopes to open that location sometime this summer.
