Via Shutterstock.A conference “celebrating the social, cultural, political and entrepreneurial contributions of the Millennial generation” is coming to D.C. and there’s nothing you can do about it.
Millennial Week, which is scheduled to take place from June 2 to 8 (unrelated: here are some summer airfare deals), will be accompanied by the first Millennial Awards. Grumble grumble narcissistic praise hounds grumble spoiled grumble except they’re actually not grumble. Nominations will be accepted through May 1, so make sure to suggest your friends born between 1977 and 1992.
“Millennials have been making headlines for years now for their impact on everything from business to politics to pop culture and everything in between,” Millennial Week DC Founder Natalie Moss said in a release. “We felt it was time to recognize and celebrate Millennials’ contributions.”
The week will include an awards ceremony, political town hall, entrepreneur forum, day of service, food event and (wait for it) brunch.
Why D.C.? Because “there is no better place to be a Millennial,” according to Moss. “Washington is one of the most influential and powerful cities in the world, so it’s no surprise it’s a magnet to Millennials seeking to make waves.” Also: They’re rich.
