THIS COULD HAVE BEEN ME. Photo by BravoA casting director with the production company behind Bravo’s Blood, Sweat and Heels is looking to cast “fabulous and ambitious women” in D.C. for a new reality show, the Reliable Source reported today.
DCist already knew this because your editor was one of the probably hundreds of “fabulous and ambitious women” approached to audition to be on the show. Here’s part of the email I received in late February:
I’m reaching out to you because I came across your information online and thought you would be a great candidate for our new show.
We’re casting for a new television docu-series for a major cable network. The series will document the lives of the most fabulous AND ambitious women in one of the most exciting cities in the country – Washington DC! We want to feature truly fascinating women who have tv-worthy personalities and a lot of ambition. Whether you’re involved in DC politics, philanthropy or you’re a hot up-and-comer in an exciting, creative industry – if you or someone you know is shaking up DC – we would love to hear from you!
As I’m missing the Salahi gene, I did not speak with a casting director. But perhaps there are some “truly fascinating women” with “TV-worthy personalities” out there who will want their lives examined and mocked on basic cable. We’ll see.
D.C. has been home to some of the lamest reality shows of all time, from a boring installment of the Real Housewives franchise to a boring installment of the The Real World franchise.
