Austin, Texas rockers …And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead formed in 1995 and released a self-titled debut album in 1998. On the strength of that LP, the band joined Merge Records to release the beloved album Madonna in 1999. From there the band became a touring machine, ripping up every venue they played. Known for a ferocious, equipment-destroying live shows, Trail of Dead was a force to be reckoned with. Major label Interscope picked up the band for a multi-album run starting with the band’s classic record Source Tags & Codes. Mixing hardcore, Sonic Youth angular guitars, and Conrad Keeley’s blood churning scream, Source Tags & Codes blew everything in 2002 away and earned the band a coveted and rare 10.0 review from Pitchfork. Fourteen years and five album removed from Source Tags & Codes, Trail of Dead is doing the nostalgia circuit playing Source Tags & Codes in its entirety with a stop tonight at Rock and Roll Hotel. The album’s first single, “Another Morning Stoner,” is a perfect introduction for the band, as it is one of the band’s most catchy tracks. The guitars interlock building into a full on blast in the track’s end.

…And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead play tonight with Le Femme and Midnight Masses at Rock and Roll Hotel. Tickets are $20.
