The Metropolitan Police Department is currently investigating a homicide that occurred in Southeast last night.

According to MPD, police from the Seventh District responded to reports of gunshots at about 10:35 p.m. to the 1500 block of V Street SE. Upon arriving, they found an adult man, later identified as 22-year-old Virgil Wood, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead as a result of his injuries.

MPD detectives are seeking any information related to this shooting and are offering a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information leading to an arrest. Call (202) 727-9099 or submit an anonymous text tip to 50411.
