Police say they’ve arrested a 22-year-old D.C. man in connection to the shooting of three people, two fatally.
Carlton Maurice Johnson was arrested Tuesday on charges he killed 19-year-old Anthony Chase and 27-year-old Eric Leeper, both of Southeast, and shot a third victim. The men were found on July 17, 2013, the first victim in the 100 block of Ridge Road SE, after officers heard several gunshots. Chase was pronounced at the scene, while Leeper was pronounced at a hospital.
There were 104 homicides in D.C. last year, according to MPD, including the 12 Navy Yard shooting victims. There have been 33 homicides so far this year, compared to 18 last year, an increase of 88.3 percent.
