The ever popular dinosaur and fossil hall at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History will close this Sunday for several years as the museum prepares to display Nation’s T. rex.

To ease the pain, the National Museum of Natural History is hosting a weekend of events including showings of Jurassic Park in 3D. From 1 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, dinosaur expert Matthew Carrano will explore “the history and special effects of dinosaurs in popular film” in the Baird auditorium. This free event will feature the films The Valley of Gwangi and The Last Dinosaur. And on both Saturday and Sunday, Jurassic Park will be shown at 7:30 p.m. Tickets $15.
