Bobby Krlic takes no prisoners with his music. Recording under the alias The Haxan Cloak, the London based multi-instrumentalist creates dark electronic music fit for a horror movie. Last year Krlic followed up his self-titled debut record with the critically acclaimed Excavation, which took his dense soundscapes further into a pit of despair. The bass hits harder, shaking bones while the strings are lifted from abandoned opera halls. The foreboding nature of The Haxan Cloak’s music makes it not for the faint of heart. “The Mirror Reflecting (Part 2)” is seven minutes of despair that ends with an airiness like a soul floating. The track is a signature sound for Krilic, who is sure to conjure the spirits at U Street Music Hall tomorrow night.
The Haxan Cloak plays tomorrow night at U Street Music Hall. Tickets are $15.
