A 75-year-old woman reported missing earlier this week was found dead in Northeast D.C., police say, of a homicide.

Mary Houston was found Wednesday in the 800 block of Channing Place NE. An autopsy determined the cause of death to be “blunt force injuries and asphyxiation,” and the death was ruled a homicide.

A Silver Alert for Houston was issued on Wednesday, with police saying she was last seen Monday in the 2000 block of Georgia Avenue NW.
