The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred in Northeast D.C. yesterday afternoon.
According to a release, officers responded to reports of gunshots in the 5800 block of Field Place NE, where, upon arrival, they found an adult male—27-year-old Jermaine Dews—suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. D.C. Fire and EMS found no signs of life when they arrived to the scene, and he was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy.
Currently, MPD detectives asking the public for help in solving the case, and offering an reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information leading to an arrest. Anyone with information related to the shooting are asked to call (202) 727-9099 or submit an anonymous text tip to 50411.
