The Washington Post will make a three-block move to Franklin Square in 2016.

Publisher Katharine Weymouth made the announcement in a memo to staff today, saying One Franklin Square at 1301 K Street NW “best meets all of our objectives.” It’s unclear how much of the building the paper will occupy.

“The space encourages collaboration and efficiency, which will ultimately help us better serve our customers,” Weymouth said in a release.

The Post (which, disclosure, is my former employer) is currently located at 15th and L streets NW. It’s, frankly, very-needed move that comes on the heels of the paper’s sale to Amazon’s Jeff Bezos.
