Eighteen-year-old Rashema Melson, Anacostia High School’s valedictorian, spent the past two years living in the D.C. General homeless shelter while working hard and studying. Her hard work paid off as, not only did she graduate top of her class, but recently got a full scholarship to Georgetown University.
