THEATER: As part of the 2014 Source Festival, The Young Playwrights’ workshop presents Chains of Suppression. “Watch angels and dragons fight for their freedom in this exciting collage of experiences and perspectives.” Source (1835 14th Street NW) 7 p.m. Free, register for tickets here.

DO SOMETHING CRAZY: Asher Roth, the guy who brought you the kegstand anthem “I Love College,” performs. Rock & Roll Hotel (1354 H Street NE) 8:30 p.m. $15 general admission or $35 for a meet and greet.

TUESDAY: Belt out all your favorite summer songs with a bunch of strangers (and some of your friends if you bring them) when A People’s Choir take’s over Chef Ike’s Mambo Room. (1725 Columbia Road NW) 7:30 p.m. Free. Just bring your singing voice (however good or bad it may be).

WEDNESDAY: The Picnic Theatre Company adapts Langdon Mitchell’s A New York Idea for a one-act garden performance. Dumbarton House (2715 Q St NW) 7 p.m. $12

THURSDAY: Are you a pop-culture trivia master? If so, you should register online to be a contestant on “Loser,” an “Olympiad of pop culture knowledge, presented in a game show format.” You can also just go be an audience member. Bier Baron Showroom (1523 22nd St NW) 8:30-10:30 p.m. $10
