A plan for a mixed-use development in Arlington, which would see the destruction of the garage where the Watergate informant known as “Deep Throat” met with the Washington Post’s Bob Woodward, is moving forward.
The Arlington County Board this weekend approved a plan that will bring office, retail and living space to Wilson and Key boulevards in Rosslyn. A historic marker erected in 2011 will stay on the site and another element will be installed in a garden space to “commemorate the location’s significance in the Watergate scandal,” according to a release.
The plan was first reported in August by the Washington Business Journal. Demolition will not occur until January 2017 at the earliest, so there’s still time to see this historic location.
