For the second year in a row, local nonprofit organizations are participating in a 24-hour online fundraising marathon.

Organized by the United Way of the National Capital Area, Do More 24 gives people who want to donate a single place to find hundreds of organizations looking for funds. Once an organization is selected, donating is as simple as entering an amount and payment information. Several area restaurants are also participating by donating a portion of their proceeds to organizations participating in the campaign and rewarding donors with extended happy hours.

Last year, Do More 24 raised $1.3 million for more than 500 organizations in the area. As of 1 p.m., $243,077 has been raised for organizations in D.C., while $416,438 had been raised in total. The campaign ends at midnight.
