Along with our friends at Union Kitchen and DC DIT, we’re hosting a free outdoor concert at The Lot @ Atlantic Plumbing, with ACME, Pleasure Curses, and Ras Nebyu performing. Just like last time, there will be food and booze vendors, so plan accordingly. Things kick off at 5 p.m. with music starting at 7 p.m. Info here.
DIY SHOW: DIY house venue The Dougout is hosting a killer lineup of post-punk, post-hardcore, and weird punk, with Big Ups from NY, Teen Suicide from Md., and D.C.’s Two Inch Astronaut and Atlas At Last. This is a great lineup, you guys. Seriously. Starts at 9 p.m. $5 suggested donation. All the info here.

ZINE WORKSHOP: Ever wanted to make your own zine? You’re in luck because the kind folks behind DC Zinefest are hosting a zine-making workshop at ScrapDC (3101 12th Street NE) on Sunday. “Bring your ideas, questions, and zines-in-progress.” Free, starts at 1 p.m. Info here.
SUNDAY
FILM: Sunday will be your last chance to see a movie at one of the area’s great repertory screens until 2016. The National Gallery of Art’s East Wing will close for renovations while the museum constructs new exhibit space. The Gallery has begun to move screenings to other venues, like the West Building Lecture Hall, as well as off-site venues at American University, the Embassy of France, the National Archives, the National Portrait Gallery, and the National Museum of American History. The gallery sends off its East Wing Auditorium with a screening of a newly restored DCP of director Dino Rosi’s 1962 classic, a “sorely neglected … commedia all’ italiana [that] reads as a sort of elegy on unfettered energies of the early 1960s — fast cars, sleek jazz, rock ’n’ roll, even fashion sense.” Screens at 4:30 p.m. at the National Gallery of Art’s East Wing Auditorium. Free. — Pat Padua
HARDCORE PUNK: Look, there’s just a lot of good DIY hardcore/punk shows this week. Sorry/not sorry. Anyway, this one at Union Arts ( 411 New York Avenue NE), featuring Axis, Demands, Orphan Crusher, and Teamster is one of them. $6 suggested donation. Starts at 8 p.m. Info here.
PUNK JEWS: Jessie Zook Mann’s documentary Punk Jews “explores an emerging movement of provocateurs and committed Jews who are asking, each in his or her own way, what it means to be Jewish in the 21st century.” It’s playing at Sixth & I Historic Synagogue on Sunday at 6:30 p.m. $12. Info here.
